How should I split up the trip cost for multiple people traveling together?

We recommend, as much as possible, that you enter the exact trip cost for each person. This can prevent problems at claim time.

For a family traveling together, you may split the cost evenly among all parties, especially if you are traveling with minor children. Even in that scenario, we’d recommend entering exact trip costs for each family member if possible.

When does my coverage begin and end for Trip Cancellation? How about Trip Interruption?

Trip Cancellation coverage starts at 12:01 AM the day after you purchase your policy and ends the earlier of: when you cancel your trip, or at 11:59 PM the day before your scheduled departure date.

Trip Interruption coverage begins on the later of: 12:01 AM on your scheduled departure date, or the date and time you start the trip. It ends on the earlier of: your arrival at the return destination, or your scheduled return date.

What is Cancel For Any Reason?

Cancel For Any Reason provides complete flexibility that truly allows you to cancel for any reason, even one not covered under Trip Cancellation. This benefit is sold as an add-on to your chosen trip cancellation benefit.The limit of coverage is 75% (or 50% if you reside in FL) of your original trip cost. You can select this option if you meet the following:

1 – purchase the plan within 15 days of the deposit date

2 – the plan must be purchased more than 10 days before the departure date

3 – purchase the plan to cover the entire cost of the trip

4 – when using this benefit, the cancelation of the covered trip occurs more than 48 hours from the originally scheduled departure

5 – any later arrangement(s) or payment(s) need to be added within 15 days of the date of payments

What should I do if my flight is delayed?

The best answer we can give you is “it depends” — when the delay occurs during your trip, how long the delay is, and why you were delayed. Different coverages could apply, and there may be different covered reasons and time frames for each coverage. We recommend that you document as much as possible. This includes the reason for the delay, such as emails, texts from the airline, and weather alerts, as well as receipts for any expenses incurred. This will help you at claim time.

What if my flight is cancelled?

Oftentimes if the cancellation is due to problems with the airline, such as staffing shortages, they are responsible for rebooking you and covering any expenses you incur. If it’s due to something like a hurricane, there could be coverage under Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay or even Missed Connection. Your best bet is to document everything and contact our team for guidance.

What should I do if my travel dates or trip cost change?

How can I check for entry requirements to my destination?

How does the claim process work, and what can I do to help with the processing of my claim?

Filing a claim starts with completing a claim form. The claim form is a questionnaire meant to help you achieve the following:

Step 1 – Inform us about the incident that caused your claim

Step 2 – Specify the financial loss you want reimbursed

Step 3 – Supply evidence of the incident to support your claim

Once submitted, your claim is promptly assessed by a claims analyst who determines whether it meets the terms of your policy and communicates the outcome to you. You can find your claim form here

Can I use battleface for travel within the United States?

Yes, battleface plans cover both domestic and international trips. For domestic travel, you must be traveling at least one hundred (100) miles from your primary residence.

Am I eligible for battleface insurance?

This plan is not available for travelers over age 85. The main applicant must be 18 or older to apply for insurance. A parent or other legal custodian must apply for coverage for a minor under 18. Children under the age of 18 may be covered as additional travelers. If the child is not yet 1 year old, enter ‘0’.

The Multi-Trip Annual Plan is a comprehensive package of coverages that are perfect for those who travel spontaneously, or take more than two trips per year.

How many trips per year am I covered for?

There is no limit to the number of trips you can take each 12-month period. Note that the coverage limits described are per annual policy term, not per trip. The maximum covered length for any one trip is 40 days.

Who is Multi-Trip Annual Plan best suited for?

With rates as low as $92.27 for one full year, it’s the perfect, budget-friendly plan for people who like to travel frequently or spontaneously. The Multi-Trip Annual Plan offers you a full range of benefits, including:

Do I need to notify battleface when I go on a trip?

There’s no need to notify us! Go ahead and plan your trip, knowing that your battleface policy is valid the entire 12 months from the start date you choose.

Can I pick a future date on which to start my policy?

You may select a start date for your policy up to 180 days into the future.

What if I, my travel companion, or a family member gets sick with COVID-19?

Until further notice, as an accommodation, the following coverages will be extended to include COVID-19 related losses occurring due to sickness, as sickness is defined in the policy:

Travel Medical Expense and Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains benefits if you or a traveling companion require medical treatment or Emergency Evacuation due to COVID-19-related sickness while on a covered trip
Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption and Trip Delay benefits if you, a traveling companion or a family member develop COVID-19-related sickness before or during your covered trip and meet the policy requirements for coverage due to sickness

This coverage accommodation applies strictly to loss due to sickness resulting from COVID-19 and is available only if the purchased plan includes the applicable benefits. All other terms, conditions, and exclusions apply. Note that certain terms such as “sickness” are defined within the policy; check your policy for full details. Does the travel insurance cover cancellations for pre-existing conditions?

If you, a family member, or a traveling companion have a pre-existing medical condition, such as heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, or other conditions, you need to be aware that most travel insurance plans exclude any losses resulting from that condition. If you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due to that condition, or if you become ill with that condition while traveling, you may not have coverage.

Single-Trip Discovery plan: If you buy your travel insurance policy within 15 days of making your initial trip payment, insure the cost of all trip arrangements, and are medically able to travel at the time of purchase, you can qualify for a waiver of the Pre-Existing Medical Condition Exclusion.

Are voluntary cancellations covered?

Generally, the cancellation must result from an unforeseeable event outside of your control, such as sickness, natural disaster, strikes, etc.

However, the Discovery plan does offer optional Cancel For Any Reason coverage.

Cancel For Any Reason provides complete flexibility that truly allows you to cancel for any reason, even one not covered under Trip Cancellation. This benefit is sold as an add-on to your chosen trip cancellation benefit.
